It's pretty much all about the Rock, Metal and Punk! although I do play other stuff.... You could say that I had a varied upbringing musically speaking. My Dad had a penchant for all things Heavy, the likes of Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Ram Jam we're often heard. He also had musical tastes not quite so heavy like The Rolling Stones, Queen and Abba. And then there was The Sex Pistols, The Undertones and Sham 69. My mum listened to Cliff Richard, and Hot Chocolate, although I try not to talk about that!! ;-)   I guess the varied music that I was bought up on rubbed off on me, and although my roots are firmly based around Rock, I do appreciate many other styles.   Unlike many DJ's, I am more than happy to play outside of my 'Comfort Zone'. I may not have every track ever released, but if you want to hear something that I don't have, then just bring a CD along. If I feel it'll fit in with the crowd i'm playing to, then it'll get played. Alternatively if i'm DJing at you Birthday/Wedding/Engagement etc, I'll pretty much play whatever you want!!   DJing Career My DJ career started in 2002 with the help of a good Friend, Dave Remix. I had a shared residency every other Saturday at Horts, on Broad Street, Bristol. The music there was very middle of the road playing 60's, 70's and 80's sing-a-long feelgood pop. This eventually progressed into a weekly slot, and then Every Friday and Saturday.   Then along came Thursday nights at the Hatchet, which I loved. People wanted the music Heavier than I was normally 'allowed' to play. Several years down the Line, and I'm still at the Hatchet Every Thursday!!   After Horts came to a close, which was mainly down to Managament changes, and priorities being changed, I took on a Saturday Night residency at The Crown. Here I was pretty much given musical freedom to play whatever I, and the Customers wanted. This worked well.   I went on to make a switch from the Crown to the Hatchet on Saturday nights. This was a tough decision for me at the time, but looking back, one that I am happy with. As with the Thursday night, several years down the line, I'm still resident DJ, playing pretty much every Saturday.   Guest Slots and Other Bits... I have had the pleasure of appearing as a Guest DJ on several occasions over my DJing career. I've appeared at Phuct @ The Bierkeller, Schism @ Lab and FGF @ [SHELTER!] to name just a few.   I've DJ'd at a few Bike Rallies, including The Bristol Area NABD Non-Urban Rally several years in a row, and the Swindon Area NABD Face Of Concern Rally since the very first one. I DJ these Rallies for FREE as they help NABD for which I am an active supporter and member.   In 2004 I started Chunkys Bank Holiday Extravaganza, which has gone from strength to strength, and has given me most of my most memorable nights behind the decks!! The emphasis is less about the styles of music played, and more about Having Fun, which is a principal that we still aim for today.   I've DJ'd at more Birthday Parties, and Wedding than I can remember.
